Our Story

Global Transactors Ltd (GTL) is a family owned and operated company, incorporated
under the laws of Jamaica, involved in agricultural products and agri-products derivatives for over 15 years. GTL has maintained farmlands, producing various crops for either direct consumption or derivative processing. The main shareholders played an instrumental role in introducing ethanol to and establishing ethanol processing in Jamaica.

GTL was formed to promote the move towards alternative sources of fuel, with the focus
on bio-diesel from Castor beans (Ricinus communis). GTL has played a major role in the
propagation of castor beans as a commercial crop and has both a direct and indirect role in the establishment of approximately 1000 acres of castor plants across the island. At its peak, GTL maintained up to 40 acres in castor bean production in addition to various other crops.

To support the growth of castor oil as a commercial product in Jamaica, GTL established
its own processing facility, which has been in operation for over 7 years. Oil produced at the facility has been utilized in biodiesel pilot programmes. It has also been sold as a cosmetic product locally at select locations and also been exported to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
